小西ゼミでブログの担当しております、3回生の井上歩花と申します。
本日は、2022年度小西ゼミ3回生のメンバー紹介ということで、私の自己紹介をさせていただきます！
①名前：井上歩花（イノウエ アユカ）
②出身地：東京都
③趣味：ダンス、古着屋巡り
④座右の銘：「明日は明日の風が吹く」
この言葉が私のモットーになったのは、高校2年生で長期留学をした時です。もともと失敗を引きずる性格だったこともあり、留学当初の私はあらゆる壁にぶつかっては落ち込む毎日を送っていました。そんな時、ホストファザーがかけてくれたのが「明日は明日の風が吹く」という言葉でした。時間は有限であり、起きたことは変えられないのだから、気持ちを切り替え、これからにフォーカスすることが大切だという気づきを与えてくれました。大学生になった今でも、失敗をして落ち込むことは多々ありますが、この言葉が背中を押してくれるおかげで、過去ではなくこれからすべきことに目を向けることができています。
⑤ゼミを通しての目標
私はゼミを通して、自分の考えをわかりやすく言語化する能力を向上させたいです。ゼミ活動では、プレゼンテーションやグループワーク、ゼミ生とチャット上で行っているニュース共有など、自分の意見を発信する機会が多くあります。これまでのゼミ活動を通し、私は自分の意見を筋道立てて言語化する能力が欠けていると痛感しました。小西ゼミには、自分の意見や考えを、明確な根拠とともに自分の言葉で発信できる人が多いと日々感じています。ゼミ生からの刺激をもらいつつ、苦手克服に向けてアウトプットの機会を大切にしていきたいです。
⑥研究テーマ
私の研究テーマは、「広告表現が人々の性的少数者への理解促進に与える影響」です。本テーマを設定した理由は、私自身、多様な性のあり方に対する人々の当事者意識の低さを、日常生活で感じているからです。実際にある調査でもこの点は指摘されており、「LGBTQ＋」という言葉の浸透率は増加していても、自分事として問題意識を持つ人の割合は決して高くはないという現状があります。このような問題意識の低さは、性的少数者にとって生きづらい社会の形成を助長することにつながると危惧しています。
このような現状を踏まえた上で、私は無意識のバイアスがかかった広告表現が、上記のような結果を生む一因になっているのではないかと考えました。また調査を進めていく中で、広告におけるジェンダー描写は人々のジェンダー・ステレオタイプの形成に影響すること、適切なジェンダー描写をめぐる広告業界側の葛藤があるという2つの事実が明らかになりました。これらを踏まえ、私は広告表現が人々の性的少数者への理解促進を阻む一因になっている可能性を明らかにしたいと考えています。

My name is Miku Seino, a third-year student who is in charge of blogging at Konishi seminar.
This time, we would like to introduce a third-year seminar student of this year!

③Hobbies: Dancing and scouring second-hand shops
④Motto: “Tomorrow is another day”
This phrase has been my motto since I studied abroad for about 10 months when I was in my second year of high school. I have always been dwelling on the past, so at the beginning of my study abroad period, I was depressed every time I faced obstacles. At that time, my host father said to me, “Tomorrow is another day.” It made me realize that time is limited and that what has happened cannot be changed, so it is important to reset myself and move on. Even now, I still fail and get depressed, but thanks to this phrase that always encourages me, I can focus on what I should do from now instead of the past.
⑤Goals thorough seminar
Through the seminar, I want to improve my ability to put into clear words. In seminar activities, there are many opportunities to say my opinions, such as presentations, group works, and news sharing with seminar students. So far, I have realized that I do not have enough ability to present my opinions coherently. I feel that students in Konishi seminar are skilled at presenting their opinions in their own words with evidence. While receiving stimulation from them, I would like to value opportunities for output in order to overcome my weakness.
⑥Research Topic
My research topic is “The Effects of Advertising on People’s Understanding of Sexual Minorities.” The reason why I chose this topic is because I personally feel that people have a low awareness to take ownership of sexual diversity. Actually, one survey also pointed out this point. Although the recognition rate of the word “LGBTQ+” has been increasing, the percentage of people who think of this as their own problem is lower. I am worried that such a low rate of awareness will lead to form a society that is unconfortable for sexual minorities to live.
Based on this current situation, I felt that unconscious bias in advertisments may be one of the factors to produce the results above. In addition, I discovered two facts: gender portrayal in advertisements influences people’s formation of gender stereotypes, and advertising agencies are struglling with appropriate gender portrayal. Based of these facts, I would like to clarify the possibility that advertisements are one of the factors that hinder the promotions of people’s understanding of sexual minorities.
