今回のブログは小西ゼミ3回の射場慶太が担当させて頂きます。
私はこの夏休みに国連セミナーに参加しました。この経験は私の人生に彩りを与えてくれるものであったので、ここで紹介させて頂きます。
国連セミナーとは国際社会の諸課題に対する国際機構や加盟国、非政府組織の役割について学ぶことを目的とした合計七日間にわたる関西学院大学のプログラムであり、事前研修と国連職員の方々の講義を合わせたものです。今回はコロナウイルスによってオンライン開催されるということで、海外への渡航費を払う必要がなく非常にリーズナブルなものでした。
私は、このプログラムを受講して、大きく分けて2つの気づきがありました。1つ目は自分の勉強不足です。私は大学で国際政策学科に所属し、現在の国際関係についてある程度学習しているので、自分は知識があるものだと考えていました。しかしながら、実際に国連で働かれていた先生や現職員の方々のお話を伺うと、当然ですが自分のレベルの低さを常に痛感させられました。特に、国際法の部分に関しては、理解できない部分の方が非常に多かったです。2つ目は国連職員の方々のイメージが湧いた事です。こちらも当たり前の事ですが、非常に大きな気づきでした。私は今まで現職員の方とお話をすることが一切なかったので、知らないことへの恐怖からどこか偏見みたいなものを多く持っていました。そのような中で、登壇者の方々もまずその偏見を取っ払うことを意識しているように感じました。
今回の国連セミナーを通して、今後も自分自身の気づきを増やして自分の人生をより豊かにしていきたいと改めて強く感じさせられました。

My name is Keita Iba, the 3rd grade in Konishi seminar.
I participated in the UN Seminar during this summer vacation. I would like to introduce this experience here since it has given me a lot of inspiration in my life.
The UN Seminar is a total of seven days program at KGU, which aims to learn about the roles of international organizations, member nations and non-governmental organizations from various issues in the international society. This time, the UN seminar, which was a combination of pre-training and lectures by UN staff was held online by the COVID-19. Therefore, it was very reasonable and there was no need to pay for overseas traveling expenses.
I had two major realizations after attending this program.
First, I realized that I had not studied enough. I was a member of the Department of International Policy Studies at university and had studied international relations to some extent, so I thought I was knowledgeable. However, when I listened to professors who had worked at the UN and current staff, I was constantly made fully aware of my low level of learning especially international low. Secondly, I was able to gain an image of UN staff. I had never talked with UN staff before, so I had a lot of prejudice. This is because I was afraid of what I didn't know. In such a situation, I felt that the speakers were conscious of removing their prejudices in the beginning.
Through this UN seminar, I would like to continue to enrich my life by increasing my own realization.
