小西ゼミ3年生の狩野 葵と申します。
今回、私は大学で所属しているサークルでの作品制作経験について話します。
私は、5歳からダンスを始め、中学・高校でもダンス部のリーダーとして数々の大会で優勝をしてきました。しかし大学では、単に踊るだけではなく、自分たち自身で0から制作した作品で優勝を目指したいという想いから、関学よさこい連 炎流というよさこいサークルに入学当初から所属することにしました。一般的に、「よさこい」というと高知よさこい祭りや鳴子などが印象的だと思います。一方、炎流では鳴子を一切持たず、キャッチーでポップな衣装や振り付けを毎年「関学アメフト」や「宝塚歌劇団」、「甲子園球場応援団」等、兵庫県を題材としたテーマで０から作品を制作、そして夏の関西大会や全国大会での優勝を目標に100人規模で活動を行っているチームです。
昨年、私は2022年度作成班という作品を制作していく中でプロデューサー的役割を担う班に所属し、阪神競馬場を題材とした「炎流ダービー2022」という作品を一年間に渡り制作しました。０からの演舞制作とは、演舞の構成や振り付けはもちろん、衣装や道具、使用する楽曲も全て制作していき、いかにテーマを忠実に、そしてわかりやすく再現できるかを日々試行錯誤していく必要があります。
そして演舞制作の1年間は、共に制作を行う道具班や衣装班との連携をはじめ、人よりも上の立場に立つこと、スケジュール管理など全てがこれまでの経験を遥かに超える大変さで、間違いなく人生で最も涙した一年間でした。途中で逃げ出したくなる時や諦めてしまいたくなる時も沢山ありましたが、共に頑張っているチームメイト全員で、絶対に自分達で制作した作品で優勝したいという一心で、1年間を駆け抜けました。その結果、関西大会ではチーム5年ぶりの優勝、全国大会では、500チーム中学生1位という結果を得ることができました。
この経験から私は、一つの目標に向けて一生懸命に挑み、目標を達成する力、チームをまとめる力、諦めない根気強さ、仲間との絆など、人生において大切な多くの学びや経験をこの一年間で得ることができました。そして、サークルでの経験を含め、大学在学中に得た力は、今後社会に出た後も役立てていきたいと思っています。

My name is Aoi Kano, a third-year student at Konishi seminar.
This time, I will share my experience about the Yosakoi dance team in university.
To begin with, I have been dancing since the age of 5 and have achieved numerous victories in dance competitions, serving as the leader of the dance club in middle and high school.
However, with the desire not only to dance but also to aim for victory with self-produced works from scratch, I joined the “Kangaku Yosakoi ren Enru”, a Yosakoi dance team in my university from the first year of entering university. Generally, when people hear “Yosakoi”, they may think of the distinctive styles of Kochi Yosakoi or Naruko (traditional wooden clappers). In contrast, in Enru, we do not use Naruko at all. Instead, we annually create performances from scratch with catchy and pop-themed costumes and choreography, focusing on themes related to Hyogo prefecture, such as “KG American Football”, “Takarazuka revue”, and “Koshien Stadium”. Our team goal is to achieve victory in the summer Kansai and national competitions with a team of around 100 members.
Last year, I belonged to the production team, known as the “22’ Sakusei-han”, where we took on a director-like role. Over the course of a year, we produced a performance titled “Enru Derby 2022”, based on the Hanshin Racecourse. Creating a dance performance from scratch involves not only choreography and composition but also the production of costumes, preps, and music. It requires daily efforts to faithfully and clearly replicate the chosen theme.
The year-long process of dance production involved collaboration with the prop and costume teams, managing schedules, and assuming a leadership role beyond anything I had experienced before. It was undoubtedly the most challenging year of my life, and there were many times when I wanted to give up or escape from reality. However, with the determination of all my teammates working together, we persevered through the year with the sole goal of winning with a performance we had created ourselves. As a result, we achieved victory at the Kansai competition after five years and secured the first place among student teams in the national competition, which had over 500 participating teams.
From this experience, I learned valuable lessons and gained important life experiences, such as the idea that diligent effort towards a goal can lead to success, the power of leading a team, the importance of perseverance, and the bonds formed with teammates.And I would like to use those skills I gained while in college, including my experience in the Yosakoi dance team, even after I enter the workforce in the future.
