前回に引き続き、PCM手法を用いて考案したプロジェクトについてご紹介させていただきます。

【海外にルーツを持つ子どものための国内ホームステイ制度】
令和4年度の文部科学省の調査によると、海外にルーツを持つ子どもの約２割が日本語習得のための指導を受けておらず、日本語を学ぶ機会が不足していることが分かっています。この問題を分析した結果、学校以外で日本語を学ぶ場が少ないことに注目し、学校外での学びの場を増やすことを目的としてプロジェクトを立案しました。
このプロジェクトは、外国人の子どもが同世代・同じ学校の日本人生徒の家庭にホームステイするという内容です。海外にルーツを持つ小中高生をターゲットとし、実施頻度としては週の平日２，３日を目安に当人のペースに合わせてもらう想定をしています。
プロジェクトメンバーは自治体、受け入れ先の日本人家庭、相談・支援役のサポーター、広報を行う学校です。特に自治体が制度構築をはじめ、補助金の負担、海外にルーツを持つ家庭の転入時に制度紹介、受け入れ家庭とのマッチングなど重要な役割を果たします。
本プロジェクトを通して、海外にルーツを持つ子どもたちは、日本語に触れる機会が増えるのみでなく、コミュニティを構築しやすくなり、日本での生活にいち早く慣れることが期待されます。受け入れ家庭にとっても、異文化交流ができるという点で魅力に感じてもらうことのできる取組であると考えています。
ホームステイという、学校外で日本語を学ぶ場を設けることで、海外にルーツを持つ子どもたちが日本で日常生活を送るのに困らない日本語能力を習得することを望ましい状態としてプロジェクトを考案しました。

Continueing from the last post, we would like to introduce other group's project.

【Domestic hmestay system for children with roots overseas】
According to a survey by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2022, it was found that approximately 20% of children with roots overseas do not receive instruction to learn Japanese and lack opportunities to learn Japanese. As a result of analyzing this problem, we noticed that there are few opportunities to learn Japanese outside of school. Therefore, we designed a project with the aim of increasing opportunities for them to learn Japanese outside of school.
This project involves foreign children staying with the families of Japanese students of the same age and school. Targeting elementary, junior high, and high school students with roots overseas, we plan to conduct the program two or three days a week to suit their own pace.
The project members are the local government, the host Japanese families, supporters who act as counselors and supporters, and the school that handles public relations. In particular, local governments play an important role in building the system, paying subsidies, introducing the system to families with roots overseas when they move in, and matching them with host families.
Through this project, we hope that children with roots overseas will not only have more opportunities to come into contact with the Japanese language, but will also find it easier to build a community and get used to life in Japan more quickly. We believe that this is an initiative that will be attractive to the host families as well, as it allows for cross-cultural exchange.
We devised this project with the hope that by providing a homestay, a place to learn Japanese outside of school, children with overseas roots would be able to acquire Japanese language skills that would be useful in their daily lives in Japan.
