今回は私が進級/卒業論文にて扱ったテーマ「社会人の学び直し」についてお伝えさせていただきます。
特に、4月から新社会人となる私たちには、変化する現代社会に適応する能力が求められており、この適応力を養うためには学び直し「リカレント」「リスキリング」が欠かせないと論文執筆を通して実感しました。
今の日本社会において社会人の学び直しが重要な理由として、大きく以下の5点が挙げられます。
①技術革新とデジタル化の進展
②労働市場の変化
③長寿社会と人生100年時代
④多様な働き方の普及
⑤グローバル競争の激化
ここでは、なぜ新社会人になる私たちにとって学び直しが重要になるのかについて、私なりに学んだことを３つお話しさせていただきます。
一つ目は、環境の急速な変化への対応力が必要であるということです。新しい情報やスキルの習得が不可欠であることから、「学び直し」は多くの変化に迅速かつ効果的に対応する手段になると思います。
二つ目は、仕事の多様性への適応力が求められることです。論文調査を進めていく上で、職業や仕事の形態も多様化していることがわかりました。単一のスキルだけではなく、異なる業務や職種にも柔軟に対応できるスキルが今後の新社会人として必要不可欠な点だと感じます。
三つ目は、人生100年時代に伴い、一つの職業に一生固執するのではなく、キャリアを柔軟に構築していく必要があるという点です。 実際に大学で出会った何人かの先輩は転職活動を進めており、既に新たなキャリア形成している方もいます。そのためにも「学び直し」は、新しい挑戦に向けて自らのキャリアをアップデートする手段となると思います。
また、大学生としてではなく社会人として重要となるのが他者との競争だと考えます。 このことからも「学び直し」は競争に打ち勝つための一つの手段であり、自分の市場価値を向上させる重要な要素となると実感します。
今までは「学生」という位置付けでしたが、4月からは「新社会人」として全ての発言と行動に責任とリスクが伴うと思います。
この環境の中で「学び直し」は、変化に富んだ場所でキャリアを築く上での不可欠な要素だと思います。
まずは、新たな場所での環境に慣れることを第一にし、その上で自分自身のキャリア形成を意識して挑戦していきたいと思います。

I'm Riko Uesugi, a fourth-year student from the Konishi Seminar.
This time, I'd like to talk about the theme of my advancement/graduation thesis, which is 'Lifelong Learning for Working Adults.'
Particularly, as we step into the role of new working professionals in April, I've realized through my thesis that the ability to adapt to the changing modern society is crucial.
To cultivate this adaptability, I strongly feel the importance of continuous learning, or what I call 'Recurrent Reskilling.'
In the current Japanese society, there are five major reasons why lifelong learning for working adults is essential:
①Technological innovation and digitalization advancements
②Changes in the labor market
③Aging society and the era of a 100-year life
④Proliferation of diverse working styles
⑤Intensification of global competition
Here, I will share what I've learned about why continuous learning is indispensable for new working professionals.
Firstly, it's the necessity of responding quickly to rapid environmental changes. Continuous learning becomes a means to promptly and effectively adapt to instant changes by acquiring new information and skills.
Secondly, it's the adaptability to the diversity of work. Through my thesis research, I discovered that occupations and job forms are diversifying. The ability to flexibly adapt to different tasks and positions is crucial for future working professionals.
Thirdly, in the era of a 100-year life, it's essential to build a career flexibly instead of sticking to one profession for a lifetime. In fact, several of my seniors are in the process of changing jobs and some have already formed new careers. Therefore, continuous learning serves as a means to update one's career for new challenges.
Moreover, what becomes crucial as a working professional, rather than as a student, is competition with others. Thus, continuous learning is not only a method but also a vital element in enhancing one's market value.
Until now, I've been in the position of a 'student,' but starting April, as a 'new working professional,' I anticipate risks accompanying all responsibilities, statements, and actions. In this context, continuous learning is an indispensable element in building a career in a dynamic environment.
I aim to first adapt to the new environment and then consciously challenge myself in shaping my career.
I hope all the Konishi seminar members—fellow students, seniors, and juniors—encounter success in their unique challenges, discovering new paths!
