小西ゼミ3年生の中村天音と申します。
今回は私のアルバイト経験、そしてそこから得られたことについて書かせていただきます。
私は現在、学習塾講師、神社の助勤巫女、そしてレストランのホールスタッフの、計3つのアルバイトに従事しています。
これだけ多くのアルバイトをしようと思ったきっかけは、単純な好奇心からです。私は幼いころから、時にはケーキ屋さんに、またある時には学校の先生になりたい、というように、将来の夢がコロコロと変わる子でした。しかし、いざ大人になってみると一体どれを本気で仕事にしたいのか決まらない。そんな私にとって、大学生の間に隙間時間を用いて自分で選んだ仕事に従事できるアルバイトとは、「なんでもできる、なんでもなれる」が実現する場所であったのです。
せっかくできるのであれば一つのことだけではなく、様々な「なりたい」を叶え、いろんな自分・いろんな景色を見てみたいと感じた末に、それぞれが異なったフィールドでのアルバイトに挑戦している現在があります。
同時並行で多くのアルバイトに従事していることについて感じるメリットの一つとして、様々な種類の業務に携わることにより、自身の得意とすること・苦手とすることを理解できるようになったことが挙げられます。例えば、学習塾では英語が苦手な生徒に対して英文を自作の歌にして楽しく学習させたり、レストランにて、高齢の方に対して噛み切りにくい食材をカットして提供したりなど、各世代の人々に合わせた丁寧な対応ができた点より、自身の対人コミュニケーション能力が高く、広い視野を持つことができるのではないかと感じました。
一方、レストランにて、お客様が来店されたと同時に温かい料理ができあがり、どちらを優先すべきかすぐに判断ができず、ただあたふたとしてしまった際、私はマルチタスクができないのではないということに気づきました。
様々な種類の業務を通して、今では得意であることはさらにスキルアップさせ、苦手であることは、どのようにすればうまくこなせるのか、解決方法をいくつか考えて実践し、最善の方法を見つけて自身の中でマニュアル化することによって、自信をもってできるようになってきたように感じています。
これらの経験から、私は今まで知らなかった自分を発見することができました。特に、業務を通じて、自身が勉強や授与品、料理の魅力を発信することにより、生徒や参拝者、お客様が喜んでもらえることが、私が仕事に対して感じる一番のやりがいなのだな、と感じた今、製品の魅力を発信する広報の仕事をしたいと考え、就職活動に取り組んでいます。「なんでもできる、なんでもなれる」。アルバイトを始める際、心を支えてくれたこの言葉を忘れず、自身の望む将来に向けてこれからも私らしく突き進んでいきたいと思います！

My name is Amane Nakamura, a third-year student at Konishi seminar.
I‘ｍ engaged in 3 kinds of part-time jobs now; teacher of the cram school, shrine maiden, and waitress for the restaurant. I’m taking part in so many jobs out of mere curiosity. Since I was a child, I changed my dream for the future over and over again. Sometimes, I want to be a pastry chef, other times I want to be a teacher. However, after I became an adult, I cannot decide what I really want to be. At that time, I noticed that, part-time job is a good way for me to realize “can do anything, can be anyone” by using the time for my university life. And then, I felt I want to do not only one thing but many things. That’s why, today, I’m working in completely different fields.
Working in many roles at the same time, I think it is a merit for me that I could know what my strong points and weak points are. For example, I thought I have high communication ability and a wide view as a strong point, through taking care of students who are not good at English and old people who cannot easily bite off the dish, in the cram school and restaurant. Furthermore, I felt it is my weak point that I have poor multitasking skill, when I cannot deal flexibly with the restaurant’s jobs. Throughout those experiences, nowadays I can develop both my strength and weakness.
I could find a new me who I did not know before I started working. Also, I notice that my satisfaction for jobs is to make customers happy through spreading the charm of products, so, I decide my future dream thatI will never forget this phrase; “can do anything, can be anyone”, and go for the very best future which I really anticipate!
