Hello everyone. Thank you for always visiting this blog.
My name is Chisa Sakai and I am a fourth year student in the Konishi seminar.
This time, I would like to reflect on my university life and share my aspirations for my future working life.
I really didn't like studying and my grades weren't that good (lol), but English was the only thing I was able to work hard on without feeling bad about it. Looking back, English was at the core of my student life. I studied abroad in high school to improve my English, and at university I chose a global university that focuses on English education and has systems and initiatives that respect individual will.
During my university life, I was surrounded by many active friends, including returnee children, friends who were teaching and taking UN programs, and friends who were running their own businesses. Under such circumstances, I was living the life of a typical university student, working part-time, taking classes, and interning.
I have low self-esteem despite my looks, so even though I was challenging myself, I spent my days thinking, ``I'm just not good enough...'' compared to those around me. However, I often received compliments on my individuality from seminar students and fellow interns.
As I was job hunting, I started to change my way of thinking.
As I looked back on my past and talked to people at companies for job hunting, I realized that the one thing that lively people have in common is that they don't compare themselves to others and are positive.
I started thinking, "I don't have to be perfect. Let's look for something unique to ourselves and hone it. Let's value ourselves."
As I work in society, I think that every day I will meet people who have more experience and abilities than me.
However, I want to shine through the things that are unique to me and that only I can do, without comparing myself too much to them.
My future goal is for that figure to become someone's ideal image.
Thank you for reading until the end.
