皆様こんにちは。小西ゼミに所属している3回生の射場慶太です。いつも本ブログをご覧いただきありがとうございます。
今回は、私がタイのチェンマイに語学留学に行った際の話をさせて頂きます。
私は大学一年生の時に、タイのチェンマイに三週間ほど関学のプログラムを使って、留学に行きました。タイのチェンマイは、バンコクの北方にあるタイの第二の都市で、タイの京都とも言われるような都市であります。
その様な魅力溢れる都市で生活して数日経過した時、私は現地でとある日本人と出会いました。その出来事が後の私の大学生活に影響を与える出来事でした。それ故に、ここで紹介させて頂きます。
その日本人と出会ったきっかけは、日本の関学の友人が、チェンマイの慣れない環境下で体調不良気味である私に対して元気づけるために紹介してくれたことでした。それ故に、現地でその方と会ってみると、その方は私を励ますために、自分の家から近くのお店や施設まで沢山の場所に私を連れてってくださいました。
そして、その道中で、彼は私に現地で数多くの学生や社会人と話す機会を作ってくれました。その結果、日本に帰ってからも現地で会った人が私に積極的に英語の勉強法を教えてくれたり、コロナの状況など近況をLINEで送ってきたりしてくれています。
もしこの出来事が無かったら、保守的な私が、未だに現地にいる彼らとLINEをしていることは決して考えられなかったと思っています。
皆さんもコロナで海外に出かけることは難しいでしょうが、改めて普段話していない友人と話してみて自分の視野を広げてみるのはいかがでしょうか。

Hello everyone. I am Keita Iba, a third-year student of Konishi Seminar. Thank you for checking this blog.
This time, I would like to explain the time I went to Chiang Mai, Thailand for language study.
When I was in my freshman year of college, I went to Chiang Mai, Thailand to study abroad for about three weeks through a program provided by Kwansei Gakuin university. Chiang Mai is the second-largest city in Thailand, located to the north of Bangkok, and is often known as the Kyoto of Thailand.
After a few days of staying in such an attractive city, I encountered a Japanese person there. It was an incident that would influence university life. That is why I would like to introduce it here.
The reason why I met this Japanese person was that a friend of mine from Kwansei Gakuin university in Japan introduced me to him in order to encourage me since I was feeling unwell in the unfamiliar environment of Chiang Mai. Therefore, when I met him there, he drove me to various places, from his house to nearby stores and facilities, to give me encouragement.
Moreover, on the way, he gave me the opportunity to talk with many local students and working people. As a result, even after I returned to Japan, some people I met there have been actively teaching me how to study English and sending me information about the situation of coronavirus and recent happenings via LINE.
If it hadn't been for this experience, I never would have thought that I could still be in touch with them, since I am a conservative person.
I understand that it may be difficult for you to go abroad with coronavirus, so why don't you try talking to friends you don't usually communicate with again to broaden your horizons?
