みなさま、こんにちは。
朝晩、かなり冷え込んで来る季節になりましたね。
今週の記事は、3年の川上 唯菜が担当させていただきます。
今回のテーマは「AI」です。
AIと聞いてどんなイメージが思い浮かびますか？
賢い、人間よりも正確、またはターミネーターのように人工知能が知能を作り出し人間を支配するかもなど様々な印象があると思います。
私は「人工知能基礎」の授業で、アメリカ警察のAIを用いて「場所」や「人」を分析する新しい仕組みについて動画を２つ見ました。一つ目の動画は、シカゴ市警察がサウスサイドにてAIを導入し、犯罪の発生する場所と時間を予測し、それに基づいて警察が巡回するというものです。AIは１日の時間や季節ごとの周期、天候や地域経済、過去の犯罪データなど様々な要因から犯罪の一定のパターンを見出します。システム導入の結果、2017年１月から７月にかけて、シカゴ全域で殺人事件が前年同期より３％増えた中で、サウスサイドでは発砲事件が39％、殺人事件が33％減って、34件になったそうです。
二つ目の動画は、ニューヨーク市警察がAIを用いて、犯罪者・被害者予備軍リストを製作した時のものです。突然警察がやってきて、あなたは犯罪者または被害者になる可能性が高いと忠告される。ある男性の元に警察が忠告に来て以来、その男性は被害者になる可能性もあるのにもかかわらず犯罪予備軍のレッテルを貼られ、地域住民からは白い目で見られるようになり、生活するのが苦痛になってしまったそうです。
二つの動画を見て、AIがどのようにしてその判断をしたかの過程が分からないので出した答えを鵜呑みにするのでなく、必ずしも正しいとは限らないという姿勢を持とうと思いました。なぜなら、そもそもの選ばれた情報に偏見があれば、もちろんAIが出す答えには偏見があり、これらは実際に人権侵害につながっていくからです。それゆえ、AIを利用した時に起こるネガティブな影響についてしっかり考えてから実行する必要があると思いました。
長くなりましたが、今回は自分の関心事を書かせていただきました。
AIのみならず、これから就活を経て、社会で生きていく上で、イメージに囚われて過度に期待したり、恐れたりせず、物事の本質を見れるように情報へのアンテナをはりたいと思います。

What image do you have about AI?
There are various impressions, such as terminator, that artificial intelligence creates intelligence and dominates humans, smart, clever than a human being.
I saw two movies about new systems that American police analyze “place” and “people” by AI. First movie is that the Chicago Municipal Police Department introduces AI at the south side, and predicts the place and time at which the crime will occur. In addition, the police will visit based on that.
AI finds a certain pattern of crime from various factors such as time of day, cycle of each season, weather and regional economy, past criminal data and so on. As a result of the introduction of the system, from January to July 2017, on the south side 39% of gunfire incidents and murder cases decreased 33% to 34 in spite of murder incidents in Chicago increased by 3% from the same period of the previous year.
The second video is when the New York City Police used AI to make a criminal or victim reserve list. Suddenly the police came and you are advised that you are likely to be a criminal or a victim. Through watching two movies, I thought that I would not take the answer that I gave because I do not know how the decision was made by AI and that I would not necessarily be correct. This is because, if there is prejudice on the information chosen in the first , of course, there is prejudice in the answer that AI gives out. because they actually lead to violations of human rights. Therefore, I thought that it is necessary to think about the negative impact that occurs when using AI after thinking firmly.
